Here is a general list of items that are commonly provided to soldiers:
- Uniforms: This includes the standard military uniform, as well as specialized uniforms for different environments such as hot weather, cold weather, and desert environments.
- Footwear: Depending on the environment and mission, soldiers may be issued combat boots, hiking boots, or other types of specialized footwear.
- Load-bearing equipment: This includes items such as tactical vests, web belts, and backpacks, which allow soldiers to carry their gear and supplies.
- Helmet: A helmet is an essential piece of protective gear for soldiers in combat.
- Body armor: Body armor is designed to protect soldiers from bullets and shrapnel, and can include soft armor for the torso and hard armor plates for vital areas.
- Weapon: Each soldier is typically issued a standard weapon, such as a rifle or pistol.
- Night vision devices: Depending on the mission, soldiers may be issued night vision goggles or other devices to help them see in low-light conditions.
- First aid kit: A first aid kit is essential for treating injuries and can include bandages, antiseptics, and other medical supplies.
- Gas mask: In case of a chemical attack, soldiers are issued gas masks to protect them from harmful chemicals.
This is not an exhaustive list, and different armies may provide additional gear and equipment to their soldiers based on their specific needs and requirements. In a futuristic sci-fi setting like Star Army, standard issue equipment for soldiers could include:
- Power Armor: Depending on the level of technology, soldiers may be equipped with various types of armor, from simple ballistic vests to advanced exoskeletons that enhance their strength and mobility.
- Weapons: In addition to traditional firearms, futuristic soldiers may have access to energy weapons, such as plasma rifles or laser guns, or other advanced weaponry, such as nanobots or sonic disruptors.
- Communications equipment: Soldiers need reliable communication devices to stay in contact with their team and receive orders. This could include advanced radios, earpieces, or even neural implants that allow for seamless communication.
- Medical gear: Soldiers may be equipped with medical gear to treat injuries or illnesses in the field. This could include advanced first aid kits, auto-injectors for administering medication, or even medical drones that can quickly transport wounded soldiers to safety.
- Survival equipment: Soldiers may be provided with gear to help them survive in harsh environments or behind enemy lines. This could include food rations, water purification tablets, shelter systems, or even small drones for reconnaissance.
- Personal gear: Soldiers may be provided with basic personal gear, such as uniforms, boots, gloves, and helmets, that are optimized for the futuristic environment. This could include materials that are breathable, lightweight, or have special features such as built-in climate control.
So the context of this is me working on the Scionate, robots who are a bit too aggressive about wanting to "upgrade" people. One of the aspects is how much of their millitary/tech I want to develop as I'm much more on the social world building side of things than on the techy side. I want them to feel complete, but not spend too much time on it.
They should have a 'powered armor' and a 'plumaria/fuji-type' ship. But what else do you think they require?
In addition to powered armor and a ship, a military should also have a range of firearms and artillery for ground and air support. They should also have access to advanced communication systems, such as encrypted radios and satellite communication equipment.
Furthermore, specialized equipment could be useful, such as drones for reconnaissance and unmanned combat vehicles. It could also be beneficial to have medical equipment and supplies for battlefield injuries and a robust logistics system to ensure that troops are properly supplied and supported.
However, it's important to consider the purpose and nature of their military operations. Are they focused on defensive or offensive tactics? What kind of enemies do they face and what are the typical types of terrain they operate in? This could affect the specific equipment and strategies they prioritize.
Well they should have...
1. Army
Infantry
Logistical support
Armor support
Transportation units
Special operations forces
2. Air Force
Fighter squadrons
Bomber squadrons
Reconnaissance squadrons
Transportation squadrons
Logistics squadrons
Combat controller
TAC-P
I can't really think of anything else. If I do though, I'll be sure to post it here.
Those are some great ideas! Here are a few more military equipment suggestions to consider:
3. Navy
- Ships with missile and artillery systems
- Submarines for stealth or underwater operations
- Aircraft carriers for air support
- Patrol ships for surveillance and reconnaissance
- Logistical support ships
4. Cyber-Warfare Units
- Offensive and defensive cyber units to protect against cyber attacks
- Encryption systems
- Surveillance technology to intercept enemy communication
- Systems analysts to find vulnerabilities and weaknesses in enemy systems
5. Support Units
- Medical units to treat injured soldiers
- Engineering units to build and maintain infrastructure
- Supply and logistics units to ensure soldiers have necessary resources
- Communications units to facilitate communication between soldiers and leadership
Hope this helps!
